Mindset of the Rich and Famous

Sep.23, 2009

In my experience, when I desire to change anything in my life, whether it be my health, finances or relationships, it all starts with changing my MINDSET first. This concept has been stated over and over again, but it is soooooooo true and worth repeating… Our mindset really does determine our success. There is definitely a difference between the mindset of a poor (wo)man and the mindset of a rich (wo)man. The mindset of those who fail and those who succeed. Watch this video below as Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, explains the mindsets of the 4 different kinds of people who make up the world of commerce…

When we switch from an “employee” mindset to a “business owner” mindset, even if we have a “job”, we automatically give up the need for safety and security from the outside world. Instead we are willing to take “risks” and enjoy life as the adventure it is meant to be. We are both in control or our destiny and part of a team, and we constantly exercise the power of one of our greatest assets, our MIND! In my opinion, the point is not to BE a business owner (unless you feel called to), the point is to take a stand for our life and to do what we ENJOY doing! Instead of “working” for money, we have money working for us. It is truly possible to be successful in any part of the Cash Flow Quadrant. The question to ask yourself is, “Are you sacrificing your time and joy for security and money?”

Steve Bodansky, author of Extended Massive Orgasm states, “The highest level of human awareness, which can be called enlightenment, nirvana, or oneness with the universe, is the one at which you take total responsibility for everything… The lowest level of human awareness is the one at which you refuse to take responsibility for anything. Everything happens to you by luck or chance. You are a total victim.” I once heard a story of a man who started working for a company he loved and acted as if he was the owner (he claimed full responsibility in his mind), eventually he became a partner in the company! The TRUE Mindset of the Rich and Famous is a desire for freedom and a willingness to take full responsibility for your life. Which mindset do you choose today?

So well said. It is so difficult to do in practice, but it is definitely the approach and perspective that I aim for, and no matter how much I fail, I intend to fully get there someday. The mindset of choice is obvious from this post. Great job!

I have read 3 of Kiyosaki’s books. The main message is to be your own boss.

As far as what Farnoosh said, Kiyosaki tells how his poor dad was his real dad. He lost an election to be governor and the guy who beat him, fired him from his important job. But his rich dad (friend’s dad) spent a lot of time teaching him about having his own business.

It was hard since his real dad was teaching him how to be an employee. My grandfather was like a father to me and he was self-employed and retired rich.

I agree with the article but I don’t buy the Rich Dad Poor Dad stuff. You can be very happy and successful as an employee and you can fail miserably as a business owner. Who says an employee has to be a victim? I also find this money worshipping very tiring.
I both work for a company and am also self-employed. What counts is that you do what you do with dedication and devotion. And yes, you have to take responsibility for yourself. But don’t confuse the different value sets of wanting to become rich and embracing love and grace.

Taking responsiblity for where you are now is the first and most important step to change and growth. It’s also somehow the most empowering. If I really do take responsiblity then it gives me control over the situation; if I got myself here, then I can get myself out.
    Thanks for the post!

Hi. this is kind of an “unconventional” question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you’ve got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this …so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I’ll just keep working on it one day at a time.
