Here is a video I recorded of an excellent spiritual practice I use to receive clarity and inspiration, and to increase my confidence and love for myself….
Now you definitely don’t have to keep as many different journals as I do. One main journal works really well for most people. I have been keeping a journal since I was a teenager. Well, even longer if you count the childhood journals I threw away:( This practice is a beautiful way for me to connect with my core, learn from my past, and track my daily progress. If you are wondering what you can write in your journal, I have made a list of what I believe are the most important aspects of your life to record….
1. Your Goals. Anthony Robbins, in his book Unlimited Power, records: “A study of the 1953 graduates of Yale University clearly demonstrates the power of goals. The graduates interviewed were asked if they had a clear, specific set of goals written down with a plan for achieving those goals. Only 3 percent had such written goals. Twenty years later, in 1973, the researchers went back and interviewed the surviving members of the 1953 graduating class. They discovered that the 3 percent with written specific goals were worth more in financial terms than the entire other 97 percent put together… The interviewers also discovered the less measurable or more subjective measures, such as level of happiness and joy that the graduates felt, also seemed to be superior in the 3 percent with written goals.” This clearly demonstrates the power of writing down your goals!!
2. Your Feelings. When you share your feelings with others, you paint a picture of who you are to them. Your essence is then filtered through their individual judgements and opinions which can color your own clarity. When you choose instead to write your feelings down, “good” or “bad”, you always have an unbiased listener and may feel truly “heard” for the first time in your life. In my opinion, this is one of the best therapies available.
3. Your Memories. Record all the good in your life… your travels, your brags, and the most precious moments you experience. This will turn out to be invaluable to you as the years pass.
4. Your Favorite Quotes and Inspirations. As I pointed out in my video, you retain 75-90% more when you write something down. By recording your insights and what you learn, you will create an amazing source of knowledge at your fingertips. I love to re-read my journals on my Birthday and get re-inspired by all the gems contained inside.
5. Your Gratitudes. Gratitude is a high vibrational state to be in. Recording what you are grateful for on a daily basis will keep you focused on how amazing your life is!!
6. Your Questions. How do you receive what you desire? Ask! Richard Back wrote in Illusions, “Isn’t it strange how much we know if only we ask ourselves instead of somebody else?” By writing down your deep questions you are in effect asking your superconscious mind for the answer, and trust me, you will receive the answer. Be prepared!

Love your blog and the theme you are using. Blogging can be so fun! I enjoyed your blog entry about keeping a journal. No doubt it is a very powerful practice. I think it is best to keep one that you can write in by hand with a pen unlike a computer where you have the chance to delete things you write very easily. Keeping a journal is a great way to get in touch with your self, it’s like looking at your self in a mirror yet in this mirror of the journal you are seeing something much deeper than the physical.

Clearly you are going to leave a mark in this Universe Debbie. Thank you so much for teaching me to have a separate journal when my hubby does something good to me. That is genius!!! I am going to implement that as soon as possible

This was a SUPER post! I love
the Universe… i was just having
this conversation yesterday with a
very good friend.
One of the coolest things to to is
to go back and read old journal entries
and see who you were being in that moment.
Thanks for the great share:)

Maybe you have ever previously considered adding more videos to all your blog content which can keep on the viewers a little more entertained? I suggest I recently go over through the entire piece of writing of yours then the idea is very nice but yet considering Im just a visual learner

You are so right on in what you say here. It’s funny because my entire blog is kind of like an online journal. It has and continues to help me through the trials of a death. (Now don’t get all weirded out. It’s not ALL glum.)
People have started writing me about how I get through…and basically I tell them what you just said here…though I’m specifically talking about a journal. Now that I think of it…writing things out seems to be much more therapeutic than saying or thinking it.
This is great. Thanks!

You’re welcome Andy:) Thank you for your comment. I also feel journaling is much better than saying or thinking it… although saying it can help too if we have a really good listener.
Lots of Love,
Debbie

Hey Rose,
I moved out of state and found that journaling every other day has been a nice thing for me on a creative level. It’s interesting something as a habit of journaling really brings us to really amazing creative places in our life.
