Balancing the Four Elements in our life is the basis of Longevity and Health. I always knew this intuitively and this is the reason why Daniel Vitalis’ Invincible Health Mastery Course resonated with me so deeply. In his course, Daniel explains practical steps and ways we can balance the four elements… Earth, Air, Fire, and Water for maximum health! Today’s Blog is the first of a 4 part series where I will explain a little about each of the 4 elements and what I do to invite each one into my life…
MY NEW AND IMPROVED FOOD PYRAMID

Kingdom #1: Plant Foods. In my opinion, this should be the main part of our diet. At least 50-60%. We can find massive variety and flavors in the plant kingdom. Greens, Fruits, Roots, Seaweeds, Nuts, Seeds, Grains, Herbs, Spices, Raw Vegetable Oils and Superfoods. Plant foods provide us with phyto-nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids, protein, carbohydrates, etc. When eaten in it’s raw and natural state you maintain the enzyme content which is so important to every function of our body.
Kingdom #2: Cultured Foods. We have 4 times as many bacteria as we have cells. When we eat food we are actually feeding our bacteria, which transform our food into something usable for our body. Therefore it is very important to get the “friendly” bacteria in our body through fermented foods such as Kefir, Kim-Chi, and my favorite, Island Fire. I believe about 25-30% cultured foods is a very healthy ratio.
Kingdom #3: Fungi. Many people feel the fungi kingdom is harmful and can cause mold and fungus in our bodies. The opposite is actually true when you are eating medicinal mushrooms such as Reishi, Agaricus, Maitake, Shiitake, Cordyceps, etc. They help our immune system in many ways. In order to receive the precious polysaccharides these mushrooms have, they must be “cooked”. I like to make a tea out of them. About 5-10% of my diet consists of Fungi.
Kingdom #4: Animal Products. This one was a real hard one for me to accept. I was vegan for a couple of years and care very deeply about Animals and I am therefore opposed to how they are being treated. However, there are actually a few nutrients that are very difficult to find in plant foods which animal products can provide (I believe you can be fully nourished on a vegan diet but you have to be very clever to do it). Even wild Chimpanzees, whose DNA is supposedly closest to ours, eat a small amount of insects (They are mainly vegan). Since I am dedicated to my longevity, I allow myself to eat the occasional animal product as long as it is earth friendly and sustainable… Organic Bee Products, Organic and Raw Dairy Products, Deer Antler, and even Wild Game if you need to (animals that have had a very natural and free life). You don’t need a lot. About 5-10% will do.
My pyramid is a rough estimate. It’s important to let our intuition guide us as we eat from the four kingdoms of life. Eating about 80-90% raw has been an excellent longevity practice for me too;) The question to ask yourself is, “how can I do the least damage to my food while extracting the most nutrition from my food.” I hope you have enjoyed todays post! Debbie! I love your new food pyramid! And I love your video…it reminds me that I need to go out and lay on the ground. I need to add more fungus to my diet, I think! Thanks for being so creative and wise and sharing that with us all.
Love, Sue

Hi Debbie,
Very cool blog you’ve got going on here. I can really relate to the entire vibe. I’m primarily vegan but meat of any kind for me, even in small amounts, is a no no.
I enjoy raw foods and have even done some raw foods cleanses a few times. Some people won’t eat foods unless the primary energy source is the sun, but I have no problem with mushrooms.
The 4 element eating philosophy sounds like it could relate to ayurvedic principles. Good stuff! Also, someone was telling me last week about grounding pads? Ever heard about them?

Hi Fredric! I actually have a grounding pad and love it! I sleep on it every night! The main animal products I eat are bee products, deer antler and colostrum. I understand completely… the heavier animal products (meat and dairy) are a little heavy for me too but can work very well for some people.
Thank you so much for your comment!

I also love your bold new pyramid. In fact it shows that you think a lot like me. I love pointing out to people that mushrooms are fungus. But I also like to call fermented foods rotten foods. It is not technically correct but it is more fun.
I drink kombuchu tea. Thousands of years ago in Japan, they left some soybeans in a barn with some hay and it got wet. It got rotten and grew a bacteria that looks like spiderwebs. They have been eating this for thousands of years.
This fermented food is an acquired taste like many fermented foods like the vegimite in Australia. It is called natto and modern science has found that it is medical miracle for cardiovascular health. It contains vitamin K2 that helps the body utilize the calcium to build strong bones and not clog the arteries with plaque. The plaque in the arteries is mostly calcium.
Thanks for being bold enough to create your own original and innovative food pyramid.

This is some very good info.. I will go on and read part two now.. Our diets are very important, as most of you already now
, but it effects everything else we do and our potential in life. If we eat bad foods for most of our life it will catch up to in the later years, in the form of some sort of disease, and even in the earlier years it can affect you mentally where you might not be a sharp as you used to be, get tired early etc.. Anyway what do i know eh!!.. great post..
