Picture of my vision board

Pictures are powerful. Creative expression is powerful. Combine the two and you have the perfect right brained activity to activate magic in your life! For example, a couple of months before David was born I created a vision board. On it I put a picture of a red car. I really desired a new eco-friendly car. Ours was 10 years old and frequently needed maintenance. Not to mention it was super loud when we drove on the freeway! A couple of weeks after making my vision board our car window broke. Remember, everything that happens, whether it is perceived as “good” or “bad,” is a blessing. Since fixing the window would cost more than our car was worth investing in, this incident convinced my practical husband (we balance each other out quite nicely) to trade it in for a new car. Yeah!! We decided on a RED 2008 Honda Civic with great gas milage (eco-friendlyish) and 4 doors (instead of 2). Just in time for baby’s arrival! Would all this have happened if I didn’t set my intention and create my vision board? Probably not. The way it works is by placing your vision board in a location where you will see it often, your subconscious mind will absorb the images within it. Then when opportunities arise in your life to achieve the things depicted on your vision board, your subconscious mind will guide you to make the right choices and enable you to achieve these things. By making my vision board I saw a picture of a red car several times a day and envisioned myself owning one. Sure enough, within a month I did!

So how do you make a vision board and start living your dreams? It is as easy as one, two, three…

1. Collect and save your favorite magazines

2. Cut and paste pictures from these magazines onto a big posterboard. Make sure to choose pictures which invoke happy feelings and are representative of your goals and desires

3. Look at your vision board every day and watch miracles happen! Oh, and be sure to give thanks to God, to whom we owe gratitude for every living breath we take, for everything you receive.

A few months ago, one of my friends put a hammock up outside on her land. It is tied between two pecan trees. I would go over there and enjoy a large part of my visit swinging in her hammock with David. What BLISS! How amazing it is to sway back and forth and look up at the clear blue sky and her beautiful pecan trees. David would nurse and nap and I would meditate. I made up my mind. I had to have one of these for myself! Soon after I wrote out a desire list and posted it on my fridge. At the top of my list I put my desire for a hammock. Mentally, I was trying to figure out how to make it happen. We didn’t have the right tree spacing to tie a hammock to, which I really desired, so in my mind I thought I would have to get a hammock with a stand. And because of our budget at the time I knew we would have to wait until spring to purchase one. I was bummed. This is the scary part of our fairy tale, when you don’t quite know if the heroine is going to have her happy ending. But, as fairy tales go, I was bound to come out strong.

My friend Courtney read my desire for a hammock just like hers. She likes to read everything I write down on my fridge, calendar, and notepads. I think my list making and note taking obsession amuses her. Anyway, she had received her hammock as a gift several years ago when she lived in Hawaii with her former partner. Her partner had received one as a gift as well. She called him and asked if he still had it. He did and it had never been opened! She picked it up from him and surprised me with it for David’s early birthday present!! I admit, I went a little insane…. squealing with delight, jumping up and down, and giving her several hugs in a row. In addition to bringing me a hammock, she brought a wood post so that I could tie one end to one of my trees and the other end to this post (remember how I preferred a tree hammock)! The post needed to be cemented into the ground and, synchonictically, our garage had a couple bags of pre-mixed cement, which I guess the previous tenant had left. So we were able to put it up right then and there! Within only a week or two of writing my desire down, it manifested! I was so happy! The next morning we went outside and enjoyed most of our day on our very own hammock! And we lived Happily Ever After!

My experience with the power of synchronicity started in 2006, when I first became aware of the law of attraction and the ability our thoughts, emotions and words have to literally shape our reality. I had a difficult time accepting this at first. It seemed to contradict the beliefs I held about life, God, and the Universe. With further pondering, praying, and reading, however, I realized it didn’t go against my beliefs but only clarified and expanded what I knew and had experienced in my life thus far. In 2007, after my father passed away, I knew I needed to put the law of attraction to the test. I had to find out for myself if I could really create the life I desired, and if we as humanity could really break free from the chains that bind us and live happy and fulfilling lives. I decided on a handful of things I desired to manifest and put the 7 principles of manifestation to work. Within three months almost everything I desired had come to pass!! My husband was offered another job, “out of the blue”, which paid nearly double what he was making, we were able to go on a fun mini vacation, my sister moved back to Texas from southern Utah and my mom and other sister lived with me for over a month (one of my desires was to live near family, so be careful what you ask for;). During this time of speedy manifestation, a whirlwind of synchronicities occured and I felt so peaceful and close to God. I realized then that we are meant to create. We are meant to take hold of our thoughts, words, and emotions and direct them to manifest good and beautiful things. At this point I had no doubt in my mind the law of attraction worked because I had experienced it firsthand. Since then I have created many wonderful things in my life and have experienced hundreds of synchronicities.

For example, this week my husband started working from home. I have desired this since we were first married, but when my son was born the power of my desire became strong enough to make it happen. I wanted him home with us. I wanted him to watch David grow. I wanted him to have lunch with us every day. I didn’t like seeing David cry when Daddy drove away. And so, I vowed to manifest Bryan working from home before David started taking only one nap a day. I practiced the 7 laws of attraction and asked Bryan to look for an at home job. Bryan desired to work from home too but never felt truly motivated to search for a job until one day. On this day I knew exactly what to say… “Bryan, will you find a home job for my birthday? It’s the only present I desire. Pleeeease.” That night he found the job that was soon to be his!! Now here comes the synchronistic parts. First, this company has never had any employees who work from home before. They had only recently decided to give it a try and put an ad up right before Bryan saw it. Two, Bryan is perfect for the job! He has everything they were looking for and more. Three, they decided to pay Bryan 25% more than they would normally give someone in his position, plus he was given a signing bonus! (something I also desired). Four, we received a big bonus from his previous job a couple days before he put in his 2 week notice. Five, we had a week vacation in between jobs so we could have fun together and celebrate our son’s first birthday (another thing I desired). Six, my birthday is on December 1st so I received my present a few weeks early And seven, my son is transitioning to one nap a day! Perfect timing!!

My invitation for you today, on 11/11/11, is to set your intentions for this next year. Decide what you desire to create and put the 7 principles of manifestation to the test. Then record all the amazing synchronicities that are sure to follow. Enjoy your life! We are powerful beyond belief!

Last week I was talking with Bryan about the oil spill happening in the Gulf of Mexico. By nature I am a “problem solver.” If I find something I don’t like, I either learn to embrace it or take steps to change it. In this case I could do neither and I started to feel a sense of frustration, helplessness and hopelessness. I asked him, “What can we do when these crazy things happen which we feel we have no control over or ability to correct?” He then reminded me of the most basic and true way to take control of our lives and heal our planet. He said, “We Can Decree!” This immediately brought my power back and inspired me to make this empowering video for you….

A decree is simply any statement, aligned with your heart and said out loud with athority, which affirms your desired state is here now. For example, if you choose to decree for the situation in the Gulf of Mexico you could say something like… “I decree purity and perfection and cleanliness in the Gulf of Mexico and all surrounding areas. I declare all life in this area is healthy and thriving. I demand all manifestations and actions which are not in the divine plan be dissolved into their native nothingness. And so it is! Amen!”

In order for a decree to work, you must have complete faith in the power of your words. “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” (Mark 11:23) It is relatively easy to decree for and change your personal life circumstances, however, when it comes to something global, it is important to unite with as many people as possible to pray, meditate, and decree for the best outcome. Even 1% of the population can dramatically shift our world circumstances. Check out whenonepercent.org to read studies done on the power meditation can have on reducing violence and war.

Prayer is another important piece, especially if you have strong faith in a higher power, a Heavenly Father and/or Mother who loves you and guides you. Just as when you were young you would turn to your parents for support, praying to your Heavenly Parents for strength, support, and the highest good for humanity is a very wise, comforting and healing practice. It teaches us two very important virtues…. Trust and Humility.

This fun decree below is very thorough and covers many different belief systems. I encourage you to embrace what you believe in and discard the rest or translate it into your own words. A lot of times you will find people use different words to describe the same thing. My point in putting this on my blog is to help you feel the power of a strong and focused decree… I hope you enjoy!

If you are taking all the right steps, saying all the right affirmations, thinking positively and still not manifesting your desires, there may be a few things blocking your progress. First, you may feel “unworthy” on some level. Confidence and self-love are crucial to manifestation. Second, you may be holding on too tightly to a certain outcome. The law of “non-resistance” and “non-attachment” play a big role in how quickly you manifest what you desire. A Course in Miracles states, “infinite patience is the only thing that gets immediate results.” Third, it may not be the right time for you. I strongly believe in “divine timing.” More often than not, however, the reason for delayed results in your manifestation is from some sort of physical or metaphysical clutter, habit, person or situation you are tolerating which is blocking your good from flowing into your life.

I encourage you to take a good look at your life; physically, emotionally, mentally, and in your relationships. Do you have something that is not aligned with your higher aspirations? If so, let it go. The results will be more than worth it!!

The concept of the mind movie is BRILLIANT! It uses the most powerful techniques to make you FEEL you already have what you desire. Your emotions are crucial in determining what you attract in your life. If you want something but are not in the emotional state of “having it” you will never have it. So how do you convince your emotional body? Here are some manifesting tips that mind movies use…

1) MUSIC. Florence Scovel Shinn states that “music has a 4th demensional quality and releases the soul from imprisonment. It makes wonderful things seem possible, and easy of accomplishment!” Find music you love which uplifts your mood and raises your vibration.

2) IMAGES. It is said that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” In order to manifest something new in your life you must have a clear picture in your mind of what you desire. You can use images to speed up this process. Find pictures which inspire you and represent what you desire.

3) POWERFUL STATEMENTS. By using both images and affirmations you use both your right and left sides of your brain for optimum integration. When picking out your affirmations remember to put them in present tense. Instead of saying “I will have this” say “I have this now.” Take a stand, know your power, and state that you already have what you desire NOW. Your subconscious will make it true.

Step 1. BELIEVE THAT WHAT YOU DESIRE CAN COME TRUE. The only limitation we have is the limitation we put on ourselves. Every event that happens in your life must happen through your realm of possibility . . . what you accept as being possible. If you can conceive it in your mind then it is possible for you.

Step 2. CLEAR THE WAY FOR YOUR DESIRES TO MANIFEST BY PURIFYING YOURSELF AND YOUR LIFE. Universal energy is like a perfect, pure, white light which shines through our individualized consciousness. When we can provide a clear conduit for it to travel through, supernatural possibilities become our reality and instant manifestation happens. The “darkness” produced by lower emotions and actions like stress, anxiety, sickness, bitterness, clutter, addictions, jealousy, judgments, fear, selfishness, procrastination, guilt, worry, anger and hatred act like sticky tar in the gears of our creative process, radically slowing down the time for our new life to come to pass.

On the other hand, emotions and actions such as love, gratitude, peace, generosity, health, acceptance, proactivity, courage, laughter, and cleanliness, highly accelerate your belief-to-reality time frame and can place you in the supernatural state of instantaneous manifestation.

Step 3. DECIDE EXACTLY WHAT YOU DESIRE AND FOCUS ON IT DAILY. The first step to changing your reality is to identify what it is you actually choose to experience, be, or have. Personal Success can only happen when you focus on what will make you happy. Ask yourself, “If nothing is impossible what do I really want?” Once you have identified what you desire, select an affirmation which clicks with you. Remember, the more specific you are in your desire and the more simple you are in your affirmation for your desire, the more instantaneous your manifestation will be. It’s good to focus on only a few end result goals at a time. Your focus is like a magnifying glass, and when you only have a few desires to focus on, it produces a concentrated beam of energy.

After you have decided what you desire and made your affirmations it is important to set aside time for daily focus. The best time to focus is just before you go to sleep or right after you wake up . . . in meditation or motion. This is when you are most receptive. Your goal is to repeat your affirmations out loud at least 3 times daily with as much emotion and belief as you can. When you speak with emotion you are filtering the statements past your conscious mind into your subconscious. Emotions are the catalysts. The spoken word is the first transition of thought to form. It produces a physical vibration which sets your intention in motion. Also, allow your self to visualize your words. Bring your senses into it by touching, seeing, smelling, hearing, and tasting your desire already real for you NOW.

In reprogramming yourself it is important that you don’t miss even 1 day. It may take many days or even weeks of intense focus before you achieve results, with each day building on the last. To break through the resistance of our conscious mind it takes persistence and diligence. And remember, once the snowball effect happens and you start to see miraculous changes in your life, this is no time to let up or coast. Keep going and you will be victorious!

Step 4. EXPECT YOUR MIRACLE TODAY. It’s important to maintain and sustain a pure confident belief that your desire is manifesting now. When you truly believe something is happening in the present moment, you open the portal for it to actually manifest in the present moment. Decide that NOW is your time! Make an affirmation that keeps you aware and ready to receive what you desire. For example . . . “My desires are manifesting now!” or “Something amazing is happening for me now.” Expect supernatural results NOW!

Step 5. PREPARE TO RECEIVE YOUR DESIRE. When I say prepare I don’t mean planning the practical steps for achievement. The creative mechanism only works toward end result goals. When I say prepare I mean to prepare to receive your end result. This deepens and reinforces your belief. For example, if you truly believe you are going to receive a new wardrobe, then you would probably clean out your closet to make space for new clothes. Or if you truly believed you were about to receive 100,000 dollars you would probably plan how you would use and invest your new unexpected income.

Step 6. GIVE WHAT YOU DESIRE TO RECEIVE. The law of reciprocation states, “whatever you put out into the universe will come back to you multiplied.” If you desire money, give money. If you desire love, give love. If you are hurting financially it may seem impractical to give. The rule of thumb is to give what you can freely afford without ever worrying about missing it (even if you can give only $1). And remember to give . . . not out of a desire to receive or out of fear, but from your heart, with true love and charity.

Step 7. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR INTUITION AND TAKE ACTION! For all the circumstances that are going to bring about your new life to happen at the precise time they should, you must be 100% willing to follow whatever path is presented for you to follow. This will assure you are in the right place at the right time. Consistent follow through is critical for you to stay on the most immediate path to your desired outcome. The steps you are guided to take may not be directly linked to the achievement of your new life, but doing them is essential to maintaining perfect timing . Follow your intuition. Ask yourself this question frequently, “If I were taking my perfect action right now what would it be?” . . . and then go do it!
